4.1 Understanding the Status Window
The status window is a monitoring window that allows you to monitor incoming
calls, log calls, manually answer calls and more.
When a call comes into STFax, and you have Caller ID enabled on your
modem/telephone, you will see the number of the caller. If the number is within
your phonebook, and there is a name attached to this, you will also see the name
of the incoming caller. If there are notes attached to this person (within the
phonebook), you will see some notes.
The notes are designed to remind you of the status/importance of the incoming
caller. For instance, if you had 'Sue Wright' in your phonebook, and she was the
local sales person for a double-glazing window company, you would see the
number, her name and you could have the note "Double-glazing saleswomen
calling!" as the note.
|
Cancel/Hangup Icon - cancel the current action. You could stop a
fax being sent, stop replying to a phone number and more.
|
|
|
Manual Answer Icon - manually answer the incoming call. If you
have auto answer turned off, you could automatically answer the call via this
button. If you have auto-answer on, and rings set to a high number, you could
manually intercept the call before STFax automatically answers the call.
|
|
|
Ignore Icon - tell STFax to override auto-answer and ignore the
incoming call. Perhaps you have STFax set to auto-answer, notice a call is
incoming from an unwanted source; just press this 'ignore caller' button. STFax
will ring and ring, and the caller will think no-one is at home.

|
|
Previous (entry within the call log) Icon - the status window logs the number and name of
incoming calls. Say you leave STFax running, you get a call where someone
doesn't leave a message (it happens), but you have Caller ID enabled, you could
use the previous/next buttons to move through the call log.

|
Next (entry in the call log) Icon - - the status window logs the number and name of
incoming calls. Say you leave STFax running, you get a call where someone
doesn't leave a message (it happens), but you have Caller ID enabled, you could
use the previous/next buttons to move through the call log.
|
|
|
Reply Icon - reply to a phone number left within the all log. If
you are out, come home and find that a caller has called, but not left a
message. As long as you have Caller ID enabled on your modem/line, and the
number is available, you could reply to that caller using this button.
